澳大利亚联邦国会议员

     2001年当选澳大利亚联邦议员，2004年连选连任，现年36岁，是澳议会最年轻的议员，也是首位有华裔血统的议员。先后就读于昆士兰大学和剑桥大学，分获法学士和硕士学位，后赴哈佛大学肯尼迪学院参加高级行政管理人员培训。当选议员前是一家国际法律师事务所执业律师，并从事国际关系、国际政治和国际法的教学。现任国会议员通信和信息产业委员会成员、两院条约委员会成员、联邦政府外交和贸易委员会成员。出于对国际关系的浓厚兴趣，还兼任国际议会联盟马来西亚、韩国委员会主席和中国、印度、印尼委员会执行秘书。还是澳中商业论坛主席、澳中商业理事会成员。关心人口和国际开发等问题。
　
      JOHNSON, Michael
      Member, the Australian Parliament　

Michael Johnson is a Member of the Australian Parliament where he represents the Federal seat of Ryan in Brisbane, Queensland. Elected at the 2001 national election, and again in 2004, Michael is 36 and one of the youngest Members in the Australian Parliament. He is also the first Member of the House of Representatives to have Chinese heritage. Prior to his election, Michael worked for an international law firm and was admitted as a Barrister. He has also lectured in international relations, politics and law. Michael is a graduate in law from the University of Queensland and holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge. He is also a graduate of the Kennedy School’s Executive Leaders’ Program at Harvard University. In Parliament, Michael sits on the Standing Committees for Communications & IT and on the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties. He is also on the Federal Government’s Foreign Affairs & Trade Committee in the Australian Parliament. With his passion for international relations, Michael holds key appointments as Chairman of the IPU Committees for Malaysia and South Korea and is Secretary of the China, India and Indonesia IPU Committees. He is Chairman of the Australia-China Business Forum and a member of the Australia China Business Council. He has interests in population and international development related issues. Michael lives in Brisbane with his wife, Huyen.
