Leif Johansson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. He attended Chalmers University of Technology at Gothenburg, graduation with Master of Science and Engineering in 1977. Leif started his career in 1974 as Project Consultant, Indevo, Sweden. In 1976, Leif joined Maskin Morgårdshammar and served as Product Development / Assistant to President of Centro. In 1979, Leif appointed President of Husqyama Motorcyklar in Sweden. In 1981, he joined Office Macines Facit as the Division Manager and was appointed President in 1982. In 1984, Leif worked in Electrolux as the Division Manager of Major Appliances. In 1987, he was appointed President of Electrolux, Major Appliances and was promoted to executive vice president of Electrolux in 1988. In 1991, he was appointed as president of Electrolux. In 1994, he became chief executive officer in Electrolux Group. Leif’s career in Volvo Group started in 1997 as president of AB Volvo and CEO of the Volvo Group. He is the member of the Board of AB Volvo, Sweden and Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, USA. Also he is member of the confederation of Swedish Enterprise and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science. He and his wife have 5 children.
