Andrew Forrest has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. since April 2003. Mr. Forrest gathered extensive experience in the mining sector, with specific expertise in major project finance and has taken Fortescue from inception to its current market cap of over a$17bn, challenging the dominance of the multi-nationals in the Pilbara and constructing new port and railway systems in the process. In creating the company he lead the initial A$400 million raising for feasibility studies and exploration, then A$3.2 billion raised in 2006 to launch full construction and more recently $500 million to platform Fortescue for expansion. Previous roles held by Mr. Forrest include non executive and executive Directorships of various mining companies; CEO and Deputy Chairman of Anaconda Nickel Ltd. (now Minara Resources) having been the founding chairman of the Murrin Murrin joint venture from inception, financing, construction - and the long and painful commissioning of what is now one of Australia's single largest mineral exporters; director or chairman of Australia’s Export Finance and Insurance Corporation, the Western Australian Chamber of Minerals and Energy and Athletics Australia. He currently serves as chairman of the Australian Children’s Trust and Poseidon Nickel Ltd. Among other awards he has received the Australian Centenary Medal and the Australian Sports medal as well as multiple global “Deal of the Year” awards. Mr. Forrest is also a long-standing fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
安德鲁·弗利斯特2003年4月起任FMG集团总裁。弗利斯特出身于西澳大利亚，童年在农场放牧牛羊中长大。弗利斯特先生在矿业领域经验资深，尤其拥有大型项目融资的专业知识。在他的带领下，FMG集团从零起步，目前市值已超出170亿澳元，并通过兴建港口及铁路基础设施，向控制着皮尔巴拉地区的跨国集团发起挑战。公司成立之际，弗利斯特先生率领团队首先融资4亿澳元用于可行性研究及勘探工作，2006年再次融资32亿澳元用于项目建设的全面开展，最近新增融资5亿澳元为FMG扩建打下基础。弗利斯特先生曾任数家矿业公司的非执行董事及执行董事；在任Anaconda镍矿（现为Minara Resources）首席执行官及副董事长时，他开创并任Murrin Murrin合资公司董事长，一手负责公司的成立、融资、建设及长期且艰巨的投产工作，使其成为澳大利亚最大资源出口商之一； 此外，弗利斯特先生还曾在澳大利亚出口信贷及保险公司、西澳大利亚洲矿物及能源协会及澳大利亚田径协会里任董事或董事长。弗利斯特先生目前还担任澳大利亚儿童基金会及Poseidon镍矿公司董事长。在他所获的众多奖项里，包扩澳大利亚百年奖章、澳大利亚运动奖章并多次获得全球“年度最佳矿王”奖。此外，弗利斯特先生还是澳大利亚矿冶学院的资深人士。对于弗利斯特先生来说，一生最有成就感的就是将孩子抚养长大。
